Guerrilla Theater Company, Cleveland's newest theater company, will open its original production, "You Have the Right to Remain Silent", at 11 PM on Friday, October 23, 1992 at the Professor Avenue Theater in the neighborhood of Tremont in Cleveland. You Have the Right to Remain Silent is a collection of topical, personal and brief plays performed at breakneck speed by Guerrilla Theater Company's talented ensemble. Presented in a game show format, audience members are invited to partake in the action by playing a variety of games of chance and/or skill, including "You Have the Right's..." own giant spinning "Wheel of Misfortune", to continue the action of the play. The performance lasts sixty minutes. Tickets are seven dollars. Those arriving prepared for the Theme of the Weekend receive a two dollar discount. "You Have the Right to Remain Silent" is written and directed by the Guerrilla Theater Company ensemble. Every week a large selection of the plays presented will be discarded and replaced with brand new pieces. GTC Manifesto We, the elitist and sole exclusive clique possessing artistic notions in any way credible as innovative, are surrounded by an artist community of inferior minds. This community believes that theater's most salient feature is stagnation. The ticket-buyers pay money and therefore deserve to see the expected, after which they may go whistling off into their world of happy denial where they may each develop their individual ulcers. We demand this audience be awoken. We demand this not for their benefit nor for the enrichment of the world. We demand this because we are bored. Last update: September 24, 1992 |
